The wait is over! League football returns this weekend as five Drogheda Boys & Girls FC teams get their campaigns underway across Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday sees the 2014 Claret Boys begin their league season away to Donacarney Celtic FC, while the 2013 Claret Major Boys face Corduff FC at Corduff Park.

Sunday brings three more opening-weekend fixtures, with the 2014 Girls Premier travelling to Ashbourne United FC, the 2011 Claret Major Boys taking on Castleknock Celtic FC, and the 2010 Girls Youths welcoming St John Bosco FC to Marley’s Lane.

After months of preparation, training and pre-season football, the competitive action finally gets underway.
