This past weekend, our club proudly took part in the Silent Sideline Weekend as part of the DDSL's  It’s My Game initiative – and what an incredible success it was!

We want to extend a huge thank you to all players, coaches, parents, and supporters for embracing the spirit of the weekend. By stepping back and letting the kids take centre stage, we gave our young players the freedom to express themselves, make their own decisions, and truly enjoy the game.

Coaches and referees also noticed a shift – players were more confident, more engaged, and showed increased leadership on the field. Without constant instructions from the sidelines, they had space to learn and grow through play.

Silent Sideline Weekend reminded us that football is for the players. When the sidelines are positive and respectful, everyone benefits:
✅ Players have more fun
✅ Coaches can observe and support calmly
✅ Referees feel respected
✅ Parents get to enjoy the game stress-free
