Drogheda Boys & Girls FC is proud to announce Daithi of the DDSL 2013s squad as the club’s Player of the Month for April, recognising his outstanding contributions both on and off the pitch.
Traditionally a midfielder, Daithi was asked to fill in at left back this month — a challenge he met head-on with maturity, skill, and enthusiasm. Daithi quickly adapted to the new role, excelling with the game in front of him and demonstrating a deeper understanding of defensive positioning and timing. His performances have been consistently excellent, earning him praise from coaches and teammates alike.
But it’s not just Daithi’s on-field performances that impressed — it’s his attitude, leadership, and commitment that truly set him apart. Coaches have noted that he has become far more vocal and confident, emerging as a leader during training sessions and matches. Off the field, Daithi is known for his dedication to individual training and proper recovery, taking responsibility for his own development.
“He thanks his coaches after every session,” noted one coach. “He’s respectful, polite, and always puts in the work without being asked. That kind of attitude is priceless in any team.”
Daithi is also a dedicated supporter of Drogheda United, attending every home game, a reflection of his love for the club and the game.
In summarising the decision, the coaching team described him as:
