Drogheda Boys & Girls FC is honoured to announce our partnership with the Dillon Quirke Foundation, an organisation committed to saving young lives through cardiac screening and raising awareness of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS).

The Dillon Quirke foundation will be visiting Drogheda Boys & Girls FC on the 14th August to offer cardiac screening to our players aged 12-18.

Every week in Ireland, two young people tragically lose their lives due to SADS, often caused by undiagnosed heart conditions. Through cardiac screening, these conditions can be detected early, enabling life-saving interventions. The Dillon Quirke Foundation has already screened over 10,000 young athletes in 2024, and their work continues to make a profound difference across the country.

The Foundation receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of individuals, communities, and organisations to fund this life-saving work. To show our support, Drogheda Boys & Girls FC has set up an iDonate page where club members, families, and friends can contribute to this incredible cause:

We encourage all our members and the wider community to support the Foundation in any way they can, whether through donations or simply by spreading awareness. Together, we can help protect the health of our young athletes and ensure no family suffers preventable heartbreak due to SADS.
