A good warm-up does more than just get you moving — it prepares your body to perform and helps prevent injuriesbefore they happen. Try this 6-station warm-up circuit before training or matches to get muscles firing, joints moving, and minds focused!
🕒 How It Works
- Set up 6 quick stations (you only need a small area).
- Spend 1 minute per station, moving smoothly from one to the next.
- Focus on good form, light effort, and controlled movement.
🏃♂️ Station 1: Jog & Move
- Start with light movement to raise your heart rate.
- Jog around the area
- Add high knees, heel flicks, and side shuffles
- Keep it relaxed and rhythmic
🦵 Station 2: Dynamic Legs
Loosen your lower body and activate key football muscles.
- Walking lunges
- Leg swings (forward and sideways)
- Squat to stand (deep squat, then stretch tall)
💪 Station 3: Upper Body Activation
Warm up your arms, shoulders, and core.
- Arm circles (forwards & backwards)
- Shoulder rolls
- Plank holds or push-ups (15 seconds)
🧠 Station 4: Agility & Balance
Work on body control and coordination.
- Quick feet on the spot (10 seconds on, 10 off)
- Single-leg balance (hold 10 seconds per leg)
- Small hops side-to-side
⚽ Station 5: Football Flow
Bring in the ball to connect warm-up to match play.
- Short passes in pairs
- Dribble through cones
- Small quick touches (toe taps or V-drags)
🧘 Station 6: Stretch & Focus
Finish by relaxing muscles and preparing mentally.
- Gentle stretches (hamstrings, quads, calves)
- 3 deep breaths in and out
- Visualise your first touch or first sprint
