A superb morning at Marley’s Lane set the perfect stage as our 2015 Claret Boys marked their return to home turf with an excellent performance against Ardmore Rovers.
U11 Claret Team
After several months on the road, the boost of being back on familiar ground was clear from the first whistle. The energy, confidence, and intent shown by the squad set the tone for what turned out to be a highly competitive and entertaining game.
Ardmore arrived with a strong and physical side, posing a real challenge throughout. However, the Drogheda boys matched that intensity brilliantly, showing great composure on the ball and resilience in key moments.
Going forward, there was plenty to admire. The team created and took their chances well, with some excellent passages of play leading to well-worked goals. The standout moment came from Adas, whose superb finish was the highlight of the game, while Kolton also got on the scoresheet with a fine strike of his own.
Defensively, the team were just as impressive. Abdul delivered a commanding performance at the back, showing strength, awareness, and consistency throughout to earn a well-deserved Man of the Match award.
MOTM ABDUL
Overall, it was a very encouraging display and a great way to mark the return to Marley’s Lane. The squad continues to grow in confidence with each game, and there are plenty of positives to take forward.
A special mention to Herkus, who missed today’s game — everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery and looks forward to seeing him back on the pitch soon.
