What is the Mini World Cup?
The Mini World Cup is a fun, festival-style football tournament where players are assigned a country and compete in a World Cup-themed event with group stages and knockout rounds.

When is the tournament taking place?
The tournament runs on the 16th/ 18th and 20th June, with group games during the week and a big Finals Family Fun Day celebration on Saturday .

Where is it being held?
All matches will take place at our club grounds in Marley’s Lane

How are teams organised?
Players register individually and are placed on teams, each representing a different country.

What age groups are included?
The tournament is open to all players born 2012-2020. We have multiple age categories for both boys and girls, ensuring appropriate competition for all players.

What format are the games?
  • Younger age groups: small-sided games (4v4)
  • Older age groups: 5v5
  • Each team plays multiple matches in a group stages (Tuesday and Thursday) before progressing to knockout rounds.
Will players receive a kit?
Yes! Every player receives a Mini World Cup jersey representing their assigned country.

How often are games played?
Games are played on rotation so that all the children get a break

Do teams stay for the full day?
Yes β€” fixtures are scheduled to keep teams active with minimal waiting time, creating a full tournament experience.

When is Finals Day?
Finals day is on the Saturday. Finals Day is the highlight of the tournament, featuring semi-finals, play offs and finals, and a family fun day atmosphere.

Will there be food available?
Yes! We will have Adam’s Burgers frying up the best smash burgers in Drogheda. We will also have our own tuck shop. 

Will club merchandise be available?
Yes, our club shop will be open where you can purchase gear and accessories.

Can parents attend?
Absolutely! This is a family-friendly event, and supporters are encouraged to come along.

Is there parking available?
There will be no parking available at our grounds but parking is available at Aura Leisure Centre only a short walk from the pitches.

Are matches refereed?
Yes, all matches are overseen by referees to ensure fair play.

What happens in bad weather?
The tournament will go ahead in most conditions, but updates will be communicated if any changes are required.
