Saturday, April 18th – Semi-Final Spotlight
All eyes on Marley’s Lane early Saturday morning as the 2014 Claret Boys take to the pitch at 10:00am in a Tommy Coady Memorial Cup Semi-Final against Dalkey United.
This is a massive occasion for the group. Cup football always brings a different intensity, and with a place in the final at stake, expect a competitive and high-energy game. The lads have worked hard to reach this stage, and playing at home could be a huge advantage if they can start fast and set the tempo early. Support from the sidelines could make all the difference in what promises to be a tight contest.
There’s plenty more action around the grounds:
- The 2017 boys also kick off at 10:00am against Ballymun United. These early-stage league games are all about development, confidence, and enjoying the game, and the squad will be aiming to continue their progress.
- The 2013 boys host Ardmore Rovers at 11:15am in a Major 1 clash. This should be a strong test, with both sides competing at a high level—expect a fast, competitive encounter.
- The 2012 boys round off the home fixtures at 12:30pm against Sporting Greystones. Building consistency will be key here as they look to push on in their league campaign.
On the road, several teams face difficult assignments:
- The 2011 boys (Claret) travel to Cabinteely in what is likely to be one of the toughest fixtures of the weekend at Major 1 level.
