The 2026 DBGFC Mini World Cup burst into life on Tuesday evening, and what an unforgettable opening night it proved to be.
From the first whistle to the final kick, Marley’s Lane was buzzing with excitement as players proudly represented nations from across the globe in front of packed touchlines and an incredible community atmosphere.

🇪🇺 UEFA Nations
Europe’s opening fixtures certainly delivered. Spain edged out France in one of the standout matches of the evening, Portugal opened with victory over Italy, while the Netherlands made an early statement with an impressive attacking display against Germany. Belgium also got off to a winning start against Sweden, setting the tone for a fiercely competitive group.
🌍 CAF Nations
The African nations brought passion and goals in equal measure. South Africa hit the ground running with an emphatic win over Ghana, Morocco produced a polished performance against Ivory Coast, Tunisia overcame Egypt in an entertaining contest, and DR Congo battled their way past Zambia to claim the first points on offer.
🌏 Asia Nations
If Day One taught us anything, it’s that you can never predict the Asia Nations group. Uzbekistan and Australia served up a nine-goal thriller to kick things off, Saudi Arabia started strongly against Qatar, South Korea edged Jordan, while Japan narrowly defeated the UAE in one of the closest encounters of the opening round.
🌎 CONMEBOL Nations
South America provided drama from the outset. Argentina and Venezuela shared the spoils in an exciting draw, Peru began with victory over Bolivia, Colombia overcame Chile, and Brazil squeezed past Paraguay in a tightly fought contest.
But beyond the scores and standings, Day One was everything the Mini World Cup is about. There were moments of brilliance, spectacular goals, heroic saves and celebrations shared between teammates. There were handshakes after hard-fought games, encouragement from coaches, and supporters cheering every tackle, pass and strike.
