Another busy weekend of football for Drogheda Boys & Girls FC, with teams from U8 right through to our Youth Girls side taking to the pitch across Saturday and Sunday. ⚽️👏
It was a particularly special weekend for our U8s, who kicked off their very first match representing DBGFC at home to River Valley Rangers. A brilliant milestone for the players and one they’ll remember for a long time! 🔴🔵 Our U9s also enjoyed their first away game of the season as they travelled to Corduff, while our U10s made the trip to Ballymun for their first away fixture of the campaign. Our U11s welcomed Ballymun United to Marley’s Lane on Saturday as they continued their season with another valuable game. Our u11 Girls travelled away to play Ratoath Harps.
Moving into the older age groups, our U12 Clarets were beaten 2–0 away to Cabinteely FC, while our U12 Blues battled to an entertaining 3–3 draw away to Stella Maris. 🔵🔴
Our U13 Blues had a tough afternoon away to River Valley Rangers, going down 6–1, while our U14 Clarets continued their unbeaten league run in fantastic fashion, recording a brilliant 5–1 victory over Greystones United at Marley’s Lane. 🔥👏 Our U14 Blues also battled hard on Sunday but were beaten 4–2 by Mount Merrion at Marley’s Lane.
There was another draw for our U15 Clarets, who shared the points in a 2–2 draw with Lucan United. Our U15 Blues, meanwhile, picked up a fantastic 3–0 victory over Newbridge Town. 💪⚽️
At U16 level, our Clarets were beaten 2–0 by Newbridge Town at Marley’s Lane, while our U16 Blues produced an excellent result on the road, coming away with a 3–2 victory over Malahide United. 🔴🔵
And to round off the weekend, our Youth Girls put in a superb performance at Marley’s Lane, running out 9–3 winners over Park Celtic in a fantastic display of attacking football. 🔥⚽️
A huge well done to every player who represented the red and blue this weekend. Whether it was a first ever match, a first away game, a hard-fought draw or a big league victory, there were plenty of moments to be proud of across the club. 👏
