Big weekend ahead for Drogheda Boys/Girls FC

Thirteen fixtures across two days keep every age group from under-8 to youths busy this weekend, with Marley's Lane hosting five ties and the club's coaches heading out on the road for the rest.

Saturday, 19th September

The weekend kicks off at 10:00 with a double header at Marley's Lane, where the 2018 Claret host Malahide United on the small-sided pitch while the 2012 Claret round out the day at 11:45 against Finglas United, with Rafal Kurek taking charge. In between, the 2017 Claret travel to Celtic Park to face Howth Celtic. The 2016 Claret team will grace the pitch in Sullivan and Lambe Park as they take part in the Not Around Us Blitz.

Sunday, 20th September

Sunday is the busiest day of the two, with nine fixtures on the card. Marley's Lane is a hive of activity through the morning: the 2016 Girls open at 10:00 against Maynooth Town, the 2015 Blue kick off at the same time against Shankill and the 2014 Blue follow at 11:15 against Baldoyle United. The 2013 Girls were down to close out the home slate at 12:30 against Clontarf, but that game has also been postponed.

It's a heavy travel day elsewhere. The 2013 Blue depart at 11:00 for a 12:30 kickoff against Finglas United at Kildonan Road, while the older groups are up early β€” the 2011 Claret Major boys and 2011 Blue both have 10:00 kickoffs, against St Francis at John Hyland Park's astro and Newlands/Castle Park at Moyle Park College respectively. The U8 Claret make the  trip to Kilmore Drive to face St John Vianney at 10:00, and the weekend closes out at 12:45 as the 2010 Girls youths travel to Elmdale Grass Pitch to take on Cherry Orchard.

At a glance: 13 fixtures, 5 at home, 8 away.
