Drogheda United & Drogheda Boys / Girls have entered the Healthy Football League which begins on Monday 28th February. We need your help to be crowned Champions and win a big pile of cash which will go towards our training centre fund.

What is it?

The Healthy Football League is an online, app-based, competition that encourages fans and beneficiaries of football clubs’ Community and Social Responsibility programmes to exercise and to pursue the benefits of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The idea behind the Healthy Football League app is to use the inherent rivalry between football fans to motivate them to get physically active.

All the participants will sign up as individual players and will be able to score points for themselves and for their respective clubs.

Everyone can score points by using the app while they are walking, cycling, or running. The points system is based on the amount of steps you take, the distances you cover, and the number of calories that you burn. The Healthy Football League makes it easy to track your exercise and to evaluate your performances.

The clubs and individual supporters that are top of the European club/player rankings by the end of the season will receive amazing prizes for their performances. The winner will also receive the title of being the fittest football club and fan of Europe.

The app is available to people of all ages and caters to people with varying levels of fitness. Everyone can sign up to the app for free and start their own journeys to crown themselves fittest fan of Europe.

The league runs for 3 months and there are significant cash prizes up for grabs.  There’s a €30,000 prize fund which will be distributed as follows:

• 3 x monthly cash prizes of €3,000 to the most active LOI clubs during March, April & May (so even if our club is not top of the table, you can still win a monthly cash prize)
• The overall winning LOI club finishing top of the table on the 31st May 2022 receives €15,000 in cash plus a special custom-designed HFL trophy.
• The overall winning school receives a cash prize of €3,000 plus a special custom-designed HFL trophy.
• The overall winning grassroots club receives a cash prize of €3,000 plus a special custom-designed HFL trophy.
